Grant Writing
As grant writers, CCG has a record of being awarded more than 80% of the grants submitted with its partners. Whenever a grant is written with a client it is done jointly with a team of experienced CCG colleagues in the area that is being addressed by the grant.
The grant writing process that CCG employs has a number of key elements:
(1) Review of the Request for Proposals (RFP) and the full grant application to determine what points need to be addressed in the application;
(2) Conducting a detailed review of the RFP’s review criteria and a discussion as to how these point can be fully addressed;
(3) CCG developing an outline of the grant proposal to be used to insert key required sections in the project’s narrative;
(4) Reviewing with the client what data that organization needs to collect in order to address the project’s needs, history of effectiveness, the project’s budget, its distinctiveness, potential partners, the project’s staffing, and the number of teachers, students, and families to be served;

(5) CCG drafting the project’s objectives, outcomes, and performance measures;
(6) CCG writing the evaluation section and any other sections where CCG has specialized expertise; and
(7) reviewing the page limit, the formatting rules, and budget allowed.
